Cat polyline drawing

Kia Ora, we had to make a drawing on Google Drawing of something animated. I chose the cat because it looked easier to do and I love cats. We first went on Google Drawing and chose our images. Then we made it big enough so we could trace it. After that we used Polyline to help us trace it (I also used Curve). After we did that we filled it in. Here is my one. I also put the actual one in. Have a good day!!

Science Roadshow

Hi guys, on Wednesday we went to the hall for the Science Roadshow. They taught us about atoms, liquid nitrogen and they did some stuff with magnets. I got a bit burnt from the liquid nitrogen on my ankle because the guy pored some on someone in the class for a second and it splattered all over the floor. I had a really good time there. Here´s a google drawing that I had to do. Hope you like it. :)

Hi, today I did this Mosaic. I chose a bird because my first one was a bird and it was easy to do. Let me know if I could of added more shapes/colors to it. Have a good day!

Mosaics

Last week we started on our first  Mosaic. First we went onto a Google drawing and then we got an image on Google. We then used the Polyline and did the shapes. After we did the shapes we deleted the photo. This is my first Mosaic so it's not the best. Have a good day!

Pobble365: The Shadow

Last Thursday and today I have been doing Pobble635 and I have been doing this one.
Let me know if you want me to add more aka make a part 2.

                                                                       The Shadow

If you look very carefully at night, as the mist disappears, the shadow still stands there, guarding his home. No one has ever seen him, only his shadow. His boat travels silently up and down the river every night. High in the tree, the door remains shut, lit only by a single light. No visitors are seen, no noises heard, only the slight creaking of the wooden path leading to and from the tree.

Then one night, everything changed. The shadow was gone and left in its place a humongous green like gooey slime monster. It had huge red-orange eyes, gigantic rotting teeth with feet the size of a 88inch flat screen tv. It came after him like a wrecking ball. He was in a chase, like the one in horror movies but the only difference is this time...it's real..

He was running though the woods, while the monster was wrecking trees, trying to find him.

(2 hours later)

He got tired and he gave up running. The monster stopped right next to him. ¨STAY AWAY FROM ME!¨ the boy yelled at the monster. ¨I-I´m sorry to freak you out.. I just wanted some friends... but I guess I´m too ugly for friends..¨ the monster replied. The boy felt sorry for the monster and said, ¨Y-you want to be friends with... ME? No one likes me, I´m just that weird kid people bully and throw their lunch at.¨ ¨I´m so sorry your getting bullied.¨ said the monster. ¨It´s okay. Do you want to be friends with me?¨ said the boy. The Monster then replied with ¨Of course, I would.¨ They then hugged.

(The Next Day)

The sun was shining in through a window onto their faces. The boy was the first to wake up. ¨Hey, sleepy head wake up.¨ Said the boy. The monster then woke up. ¨Wanna explore the woods more?¨ Said the boy. ¨...I don´t know..¨ Said the monster in a shaky voice.

¨Hey, are you okay?¨

¨Yeah, I guess.. It´s just...¨

¨Just what?¨

¨It´s just, I´ve never had anyone to hangout with and a lot of people don´t like me.¨ The Monster replied. ¨Oh that´s okay, we can do whatever you want.¨

¨Okay, we can explore the woods and then play. I have some fun stuff we can do after.¨

The monster and the boy went along. Through the woods, in and out of the rivers. They then found a humongous tree with swings, one big enough for the boy and the other big enough for the monster. They then walked over to the swings and started swinging on them. ¨I haven´t been on one of these in years.¨ Said the monster. ¨Really? cause same. I haven´t been on one since I was like 4.¨ Replied the boy.

(30mins later.)

They heard a big thud and twigs snapping in the distance. ¨D-did you hear that?¨ ¨Y-yeah,¨ Said the boy. They then hopped off the swings. Tip toeing quietly. They heard it again but louder. They saw an opening among the trees. They then walked over and looked through. In there was....

Olympic T-shirt

One of our reading tasks was to make a t-shirt for the Olympics. I chose the kiwi because it's New Zealand's national bird, then I chose the New Zealand Olympic uniform because it looked cool and I chose the rings because it looks a bit better with them on.

What are the Paralympics?

For reading one of our tasks on our chart thing was to do research on the Paralympics.

What are the Paralympics?

Athletes with a variety of disabilities compete in the Paralympics, which are a periodic series of international multi-sport events involving athletes with a variety of disabilities such as limited muscle power, impaired passive range of motion, limb deficit, leg length difference, and so on.

Paralympic athletes compete in 6 different disability groups; amputee, cerebral palsy, visual impairment, spinal cord injuries, intellectual disabilities and ‘les autes’.

Paralympics started on 18th-25th september 1960 in Rome six days after the closing ceremony of the Olympic Games. Since then, 2,860 gold medals have been awarded in the sport.

In 1962, an Auckland paraplegic competed in the British Commonwealth Paraplegic Games in Western Australia, marking New Zealand's first participation in disability sports.

In January 2007,  the New Zealand Paraplegic and Physically Disabled Federation was formed as the National Paralympics New Zealand. This was to gain greater public awareness and raise the profile of disability sport by focusing on its most prestigious event - the Paralympic Games.

Hitting The Target Re-tell

 Hitting the Target

Hitting The Target - Stock Motion Graphics | Motion ArrayOnce there was a man who was 30 and a serial killer. He wore an all white mask. He would kidnap kids, teens and even young adults and tortured them before killing them in disturbing abandoned places. After he stabbed his 250th victim with a knife that had old blood stains, he wanted to do something else so he wasn’t a suspect. After about 10 minutes of thinking, he decided that he would do archery because he was good at shooting things. He then began training 24/7 and sometimes he would pass out like a rock hitting the hard concrete. After weeks or months he began to do competitions. After a few years, he was the best archer in the world. He won 15 big trophies and 10 golden medals for being the best.

A lot of people asked how he was good at archery. But he would always tell them with a smile, “Practice makes perfect.”

One day, a man who was in his late 20´s wearing a black and white suit like a businessman, told him that “You’re not the best at archery and I know someone who is better than you!” The archer didn’t believe him and yelled,”No there’s not!” so the man took the archer to a farm. When they got there, they saw hundreds of humongous targets and a man. They went over to the man and the man's name was Jeffrey. The archer was shocked because all the arrows were in the exact center of the targets. The archer asked, “How do you shoot the arrow in the exact center?” Jeffrey replied with a smile, “Well, you do things your way and I do things my way.” The archer was so confused and asked, “What do you mean?” Jeffrey replied with, “Well, you see, I first shoot the arrow and then I paint on the target.” The archer was surprised and yelled at Jeffrey, “THATS CHEATING!”

The man that took the archer to Jeffrey had left. Now it was Jeffrey and the archer. The archer took Jeffrey by the shirt, and shoved him in the boot of his car. The archer then drove off to an abandoned place. By this time it was 2:37am. Jeffrey was so confused by what was happening. The archer then took Jeffrey out of the boot and tied him to  a chair. Jeffrey asked the archer,

“What are you going to do to me? Kill me?

“Actually yeahh, I am. Any last words?”

“Yea, the cops are 7 minutes away.”

When the police got there, they saw the archer with a knife in his hand and a stab wound in Jeffrey’s chest. They yelled with their guns in their hands, “PUT YOUR HANDS UP!” But the archer didn’t...

Tears of sorrow

Kia Ora, Over the past week for writing we have made a fictional story to make our reader feel emotion.

Our learning intention this week was to deepen our understanding of descriptive language by creating feelings for our reader, such as empathy. We also looked into the effects of short sentences.

I was filled with sadness. My favorite companion Marley had pain in his eyes. I was telling him he was a good boy. I gave Marley his favorite toy. I struggled to say goodbye to my best friend . I was having my soul being crushed as the life drained from Marley’s eyes. I begged the gods to let Marley live another day. The silent night gave me the time to whisper into Marley’s ear about how much I loved him.  My stomach felt like a waterfall. It fell deeper and deeper into my body. I couldn’t believe that Marley was gone.

What do you think should happen next?

New Zealand Sign Language

Since it's NZSL week this week, our reading activities are based on NZSL. We had do go on a site that our reading teacher put up on how reading activities and read it. Then we had to create a visual about NZSL.

New Zealand Sign Language is one official language of New Zealand. It has developed over time within the New Zealand Deaf community and it helps deaf people with access to society, sense of identity and wellbeing. New Zealand Sign Language is unique to New Zealand and is the main language of New Zealand’s Deaf community. It became an official language in New Zealand in April 2006.

NZSL was created by deaf people for deaf people. It's a natrual language that conveys information via combination of signs, facial expressions and body movements. It’s not based on english  or other spoken languages and it's not just fingerspelling.

There are many ways to learn NZSL, here's a site where you can learn NZSL fingerspelling alphabet.

Here's a photo of what NZSL fingerspelling looks like.Learning Sign Language basics - MAS

Sky Diving Story

Me and my friend decided to jump out of a plane but we went at different times so we could see each other coming down. I went on the plane as fear got to me that I was gonna die. I was strapped tight to a man like I was a air mattress going to pop. I got butterflies in my stomach like a bullet to my stomach. I was so nervous to jump out. My ears started popping like popcorn in a microwave as the plane got higher. I put on my pare shoot then walked slowly to the door. Fear hit my like a punch in the gut as someone opened the door. I was so nervous that I was gonna fall on rocks or something. When I jumped out, it felt like I was in a tornado as the wind blew in my face. The people and buildings got bigger and bigger as I was falling down. When I got to the ground, I was relieved that it was all over. I felt so glad that I was back on land. It was my friends turn to go. She was VERY nervous but she still went. Friends POV: I was super nervous to go on the airplane but I still did it. When I got on I was strapped to a man and it felt like I was a piece of bubble wrap someone was popping. As the plane got higher and higher the people and buildings started to shrink. The man that I was strapped to put on my pare shoot and then opened the door. I walked very slowly like I was a hostage getting something. As I walked closer and closer.

What could I include next?

Facts about the Bassoons

This is a slideshow with facts about bassoons.

Another World

                        Another World

Jackson had been following the trail for several hours. Hood drawn over his head to protect him from the savage wind, he continued to trudge along. The only sounds Jackson could hear was the crunch of his feet as they penetrated the layer of snow underneath him, and the faint, disconcerting hum that came from the orb in front.

The key key to it all, he was sure, lay in the object he held carefully in his frozen hands. The boy wasn’t quite sure how he'd use it, but he hoped that it’s purpose would reveal itself when he reached his destination.

He was walking hours into the dark as his frozen hands got very numb but he still wasn’t at his destination, he kept walking and walking and following the orb in the sky til he saw what he was looking for. The orb started going towards it and then stopped when he got to the huge silver gate covered in snow.

What Jackson saw amazed him, he had never seen anything like it before. What he saw was another world filled with orbs. It had some things as what we have but modafied. Most things there could move on their own.

There were thousands of orbs flying around. He even got to talk with some of them.

My self portrait art work

A few weeks ago, my class made a split face self portrait of our selves.

We made it because we got told to but  I really wanted to do it anyways.

We used a photo and a pencil to trace it on  peace of paper and we traced it on a window. It took a few tries for me to do it but here it is.
